Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344

Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 4trj bassSeptember 1, 2011A lot of people seem to love these strings, but I really didn't care for them . the lack of tension was something I couldn't get use to,The tone was not bad , could have had more bottom though, maybe a .105 would have had more.I haven't played a fretless in many years ,but I get the feeling these would be great for soloing on a fretless.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5ChadJuly 31, 2011I have a 5 string set on my G&L L-2500 and a 4 string set on my P bass. No string I've ever used has endeared itself to me like TI Flats. Great fundamental with enough top end to keep from sounding dead. The feel of the strings is icing on the cake. Silky smooth with low tension that make them play like butter, yet even the B string is thunderous.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5JohnkJune 17, 2011My favorite flatwound string, period. they not only have the best tone, but their attack and sustain (bloom) is like no other string. perfectly balanced tone without the super stiff tension generally associated with flatwound bass strings. i have them on 5 of my fender basses, two for my ric basses and they are staying on them .
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5ERMay 31, 2011I tried for years to like flats and couldn't get used to them. A friend suggested I try these, and I'm glad I did! They're much more flexible than other flats I tried with a much smoother, 'softer' feel. The flexibility is almost like rounds, which made the transition really easy. The tone on a '51 P-bass reissue is really nice. Lots of fundamental thud, but enough upper partials so the detail isn't lost. They last a really long time, too. Excellent strings. Highly recommended.

Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Jim BordnerApril 20, 2011If you are concerned that flatwounds will kill the "brightness" of your instrument, stop worrying. The only thing you have to lose is the fret rattle, the finger squeak, and the high tension of rounds. These strings are everything everybody told me they'd be and more... easy and smooth to play, versatile, great sound, with incredible intonation. I won't use anything but TI's for foreseeable future. Worth every penny, and JustStrings's service was very good.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Butch BlackApril 7, 2011I found out about these strings on Talkbass a few years ago. I use them on both of my basses a J and a P/J and they sound great. Warm and depending on how much I roll off the treble on the bass articulate (for flats) to deep dark and mellow. They're not for everyone as they're fairly low tension, I don't know how well they'd do in a drop tuning and of course there are styles that are better suited to rounds. If you're looking for that mellow flat sound I'd highly recommend them. They're not cheap but with flats you don't have to change strings often. I play blues, all kinds, and they work great. My basses are set up with low action and I play with moderate plucking force.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Roger WinklerFebruary 22, 2011This will be my second set of JF344's and I just love them. They do require a bit of a breaking in period but the more you play them the better they sound. I highly recommend them.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5ChuckFebruary 18, 2011Best strings I've used. I have them on a P-bass for R+B band and on a P-Bass fretless and J-Bass active for Big Band and Jazz. Beautiful balanced sound. Easy to play. Last quite a long time. Highly recommend these strings. If you're a professional player and haven't tried them, you owe it to yourself to see what they can do for you.

Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Mark millerJanuary 7, 2011I would give six stars if available, been playing professionally for over 30 years, and these are the... best strings I have ever used. I will now be stringing my Lakland 5 with Thomastik-Infeld along with my Jazz fours. Thanks again
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5DarwinNovember 5, 2010I recently modified my P-bass to a fretless and decided to give Thomastik-Infeld a try. I can not believe how nice these strings feel and sound. Very quiet and very smooth feel; puts round wounds to shame. I have a set of semi-rounds on my Jazz Bass and these even make those sound noisy. I love the lower tension and the tone. These are going on my other basses as well.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Richard BlythinOctober 1, 2010I've wanted to try TI jazz flats for many years now. I finally ordered a set for my rosewood board fretless to replace the factory stock rounds. All I can say is WOW.. with the rounds I wasn't hearing much difference with the active electrics turned on. After putting TI on, the bass suddenly came alive. I would highly recommend these strings. I've found the ideal set for my fretless.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5EdSeptember 29, 2010Great strings. Used on a Custom Shop Jazz made according to 1964 specs, and a fretless P-style built from Warmoth neck and body with passive Bartolinis. The TIs have a pleasing, unique voice: round and deep, but also clear and clean in the mids and highs. Can be either smooth or funky, depending on type of attack. Highly recommended. The only strings I'll put on either of these basses now.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 4Jason DickieSeptember 27, 2010I really like these strings, they sound great and play great. I haven't broken them in fully, but on my '78 Jazz bass they sound like a well worn in set of rounds.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Dean MJuly 25, 2010Before I bought these, I used other higher tension flats on my Fender Jazz and never could get the neck to hold the proper relief. I could see that those strings were going to shape the neck into a question mark! Not so with these TI flats. The lower tension of these string makes the neck finally stable. The sound is fine as well. I would recommend these strings to any bass player - especially those who like the mellow sound of flats and are experiencing neck tension related issues that sometimes come with flatwounds.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Ted R.March 22, 2010I love the warm tone and the low tension.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5jasonFebruary 26, 2010I'm loving these strings so far. Very warm and responsive to your touch. And I hear they get even better after they get broken in...
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5JesseJanuary 23, 2010I have these on my fretless acoustic bass. They sound great and I really enjoy the feel of the lower tension.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 3J. ChandlerJanuary 16, 2010I really believe these were the best flats you could buy until I finally woke up and realized that they are nowhere near as balanced as they ought to be tensionally, and that was causing my E and A strings to sound muddy in comparison with D and G. I switched to another brand that focuses a lot more on proper balance and I haven't looked back for more than a year. In addition, after I quit TIs, a friend told me that he had gone through multiple sets with muddy E strings and he had to quit them too (and I had never discussed it with him before that). I really can't recommend these, they are overpiced and not worth your time unless you just want to be in the in-crowd in terms of what strings you use.
Thomastik-Infeld Electric Bass Nickel Flat Wound Roundcore 4 String, .043 - .100, JF344star rating 5Brian KarpJanuary 3, 2010Good solid flatwound string, not too slinky.
