These are by the far the nicest sounding strings for both techniques.

These strings actually made my Martin guitar sound better and play easier. It's my choice of string from now on.

They improved the tone of my 60s Martin 00-18 tremendously. I recently used them in a performance on this guitar and thought they sounded fabulous. A little pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.

I play a rather delicate Larrivee and these strings just seem to be made for fingerstyling it. Most American-made strings tend to be generic and undifferentiated. Hand someone a guitar with the Plectrums installed and they will immediate sense the difference in playability and sound. Expensive and worth every pfennig...but, I would not recommend these if you're doing bluegrass, or banging away doing Le Pompe a la Django with a 2mm Wegen. Like my Larrivee, they just seem...well, delicate.

Thomastik-Infeld Acoustic Guitar Plectrum Bronze Flat Wound/Bronze Round Wound Medium Light, .012 - .059, AC112star rating 5VHSeptember 27, 2009I bought these as an experiment as I LOVE T-I electric flatwounds. I have an inexpensive but great playing acoustic (Cort Earth 50) and these strings sound GREAT. I am getting a early Beatles type sound from my guitar and I couldn't be happier. They are advertised as low tension and this is 100% true, my guitar plays very easily with them.

Last longer, sound and feel better. They are superb on smaller bodied instruments and are far and away the best finger-style strings ever! For those of us who use finger picks you will be amazed by the response and attack of the smooth wound basses. Also they keep their promise of being kind to older instruments--let me know if it gets better than this.
