Savarez Corum Silver Plated Wound Bass Standard Tension .029, 504Rstar rating 5Andrea HealySeptember 4, 2009I have been a fan of Savarez strings, but rarely have strayed from my usual Alliance HT which I have used on my spruce and cedar guitars. Recently purchased a lovely new Millburn cedar that came with Corum basses, and I was very favorably impressed. While some find that the Corum basses may be too overpowering on a cedar, I love the depth and even greater emotive warmth. I have now tried them on a newish spruce guitar that was a bit green and thin sounding in the bass, and the Corum helps to round out this young guitar's sound. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I am fond of them. Will probably stick to Alliance HT's for my everydays, but these are great for additional warmth of tone, if you are looking for that.
