(I use a Seiko chromatic tuner). Perhaps it is too thin. I got a "regular" high E out of some loose sets for a regular 6 string guitar and just used it and it tuned OK. I don't know if i just lucked into a couple defective strings or what. In 35 years, Ive never had a string pop on me.
