Pahoehoe Dreads Colored Bass Strings 18"-21" Scale (Black E, Green A, Yellow D, Red G), DREADSstar rating 5logophileApril 25, 2011I disagree with the other reviewer, I use these strings on my Ashbory and really like them. I play the Ashbory in a weekly gig with uke and guitar. I love the sound, everyone in the band loves the sound, the crowd loves the sound and the look of them. You can tell if you like the sound by checking out my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqGvLGGqs2A& Best of all, they don't break like the normal Ashbory strings. I have yet to break a string.
Pahoehoe Dreads Colored Bass Strings 18"-21" Scale (Black E, Green A, Yellow D, Red G), DREADSstar rating 1RobertApril 19, 2010I enjoyed the colors of these strings, but that's about it. The D and G strings feel and sound different, as if made of something different. They sound plasticky and damped. They have to be tied into knots to stay in the tuning pegs without winding them 20 wraps to get them up to pitch, and that looks pretty silly. I had 'em on my Ashbory and tuned up for all of about 5 minutes before I decided that was a wasted $22.50 and a wasted 45 minutes I could never have back. They were just awful for the Ashbory. I don't own/play bass uke, so I have no idea how well these work on one. I'm sure they're great, as I've been thrilled with everything I've ever bought from JustStrings.com. But I cannot recommend against using these on an Ashbory strongly enough.
