Gibson Banjo Earl Scruggs NPS Wound 4th, .0095 - .020, SBG-ESLstar rating 5Crowell HolcombMarch 13, 2010I guess I have bought hundreds of these strings...I have (over the last 35 years or so) tried every kind of banjo string made....I always come back to these ES strings....The tone quality is great...They last ok, even though my fingers perspire pretty bad while playing..I primarily use these on my 36-38 Model 11 Conversion, but I do use Elixirs on my 93 ES model....These two banjos have different set ups, and different sounds
Gibson Banjo Earl Scruggs NPS Wound 4th, .0095 - .020, SBG-ESLstar rating 5BillJanuary 15, 2010These are the best I've played. Good crisp tone, last about a month for me. Smaller sizes handle better for me. Very hard to find. I bought 6 months stock.

Gibson Banjo Earl Scruggs NPS Wound 4th, .0095 - .020, SBG-ESLstar rating 5Crowell HolcombOctober 3, 2009I have been using these strings for years. I have tried several other brands, mostly Vegas, GHS, and recently Elixirs, but I always go back to the Gibsons. I play with a local bluegrass band, and my hands perspire a lot. These Gibsons are good for 2 gigs at least, even with the "sweaty hands".
