In all cases, the DR strings give me a bright, articulate tone without sounding "ringy" like other brands I've tried. They feel great on my fingers. The DRs also have a nice, warm sound when I'm recording with the basses. And they seem to keep their tone over time. I've had the set on my Fender Jazz for more than a year (I don't play it as much as the other two basses) and they still have that DR sound that I've come to know and love!
