DR Strings Electric Acoustic Guitar - Zebra™ Medium-Heavy, ZAE-13star rating 5R. S.April 1, 2011First off I'm a big fan of DR strings, especially the round core ones. I've been using Sunbeams for a while and thought I'd give these a try for a change. So I strung up the NRP with a set and there is quite a difference. They're a bit heavy for fretting (for me anyway) but I play a lot of slide and for D or G tuning they are great. The mix of steel and bronze produces a very complex sound: thick fundamental with subtle, ringing partials (I know this sounds a bit airy fairy but it's the best way I can describe my experience of it). Not as bell like as the Sunbeams but there is good projection and sustain, and an even decay. On a steel reso they remind me very much of the old blues recordings. If they continue to sound this good I think they'll be replacing the Sunbeams.

DR Strings Electric Acoustic Guitar - Zebra™ Medium-Heavy, ZAE-13star rating 5Mark CasaleFebruary 11, 2010I have no idea why these strings aren't massively popular, they are hands down my favorite acoustic guitar string, and the electrics are really really nice as well. Superior tone and long life. 5 stars, easy.
DR Strings Electric Acoustic Guitar - Zebra™ Medium-Heavy, ZAE-13star rating 5JOHN SWEENEYOctober 27, 2009This was the first time using the above strings. I was really impressed by the clear bell like tone and the increase in sustain without the use of amplification. I use these strings in combination with a Taylor solid wood jumbo guitar and the LR Baggs M-1 acoustic humbucking pick-up. These strings take on another dimension when used with a magnetic pick-up, the stainless steel in the strings assures a very deep bass and clear highs. I especially like using the medium gauge strings with standard tuning a 1/2 step down (E to Eb). The sound is unbelievable!
