DR Strings Bass Fat Beam™ Stainless Steel 6 String, .030 - .130, MM6-130star rating 5Bass CadetMarch 5, 2011These strings are the right gauge for 6-string bass. They allow the bass to be played in any style of music - total versatillity. The fat 130-B allows for Ol'skool funk and groove while still keeping a modern edge. Love how DR's stay in tune and play like they're already broken-in, right out the pack! For great feel and tone Fat beams are Numero uno no doubt.
DR Strings Bass Fat Beam™ Stainless Steel 6 String, .030 - .130, MM6-130star rating 3AlanApril 14, 2010I can't really think of any bassist that would need these specific strings. If I was going to play in b I'd just us .125, but I play drop a & .130 is just too thin to propperly hold it. I currently use .135 & it's still just a little too loose. I've played the thinner guage & they are great strings, they have a warm feeling to them & are great for slaps. But I suggest getting the .125 guage, everyother bass player I know prefers a slightly thinner string over thicker. But they are DR, & there arn't any better strings out there lol.

They've replaced the MTD stainless steel strings on my bass!
