D'Addario Mandolin Phosphor Bronze Bluegrass, .011 - .040, J74star rating 5rkunkelJanuary 5, 2010I've tried many other sets, but keep coming back to these strings. I believe they are the most popular mandolin strings for good reason.

These are the only strings that I will use on the mandolins I make as my experience they provide the best sound and are very durable.

D'Addario Mandolin Phosphor Bronze Bluegrass, .011 - .040, J74star rating 5Doug gOctober 30, 2009I have been using these strings for close to 30 years now, possibly longer than they were making them. I broke a string recently and my spare date back to when they had dampers wound into the ball end. I don't know why anyone uses anything else. (OK I understand buying the J75s!)
