D'Addario EXP Coated Classical Guitar Hard Tension, EXP46star rating 5Larry PhillipsOctober 10, 2011I purchased a Takamine TC132SC classical guitar in 3/11. Solid cedar soundboard and solid rosewood back. The guitar was strung with the EXP Normal Tension strings. I thought the guitar sounded great. Re-strung in 10/11 with the hard tension version based on some reviews I have read. What a difference. Much more sustain and the basses have a lot more depth. I do not have a lot of experience with nylon strings but I could definitely hear difference with the Hard Tension strings. Action was also a little quicker than the Normal Tension strings.
D'Addario EXP Coated Classical Guitar Hard Tension, EXP46star rating 2Amy KOctober 5, 2010I've been experimenting with different strings on my Ramirez classical. I had high hopes for the EXP, but honestly they were very ordinary. The wounds were okay but not as good as the Savarez red cards that I've been using. The nylons were muted and muddy sounding... that is on this particular guitar, of course.

NunezAugust 26, 2010These were the original strings on my Manuel Rodriguez e Hijos, i.e., Model C, classical guitar and I was impressed by the tone and longevity of the strings compare to the D'Addario Classical Guitar Pro Arte Normal, i.e., EJ45, which I have used for years and now I can say that I'm a convert to the EXP46.

D'Addario EXP Coated Classical Guitar Hard Tension, EXP46star rating 4vinny bSeptember 15, 2009I have tried a lot of strings. I have a 60 something Gibson classical and these strings sound the best on it. I also have a Carvin thin body classical that is a bit too easy to play...too slinky. I used these on it and it made a big difference as well as in sound quality.
