C.F. Martin Vega Banjo Nickel Wound 5 String Medium, .010 - .023, V-730star rating 5BoneJuly 11, 2010What happened to these? The Vega strings are inferior to the ones in the red, white, and blue box. You still have that brand for Dobro - thanks. Please bring 'em back for 5-string banjo! 8==8

What was on my Harmony(it's cheap, but sounds good) were Martins "Bluegrass" strings(the ones with the American flag on the cover). Those are SO MUCH BRIGHTER than the Vega's! I haven't played any other strings but the Vegas have a Warmer tone; not so bright on my Harmony. So if your looking for a warmer tone string check out the Vegas. If your looking for something brighter(like me), try the "Bluegrass" strings.
